Description:

The Korea Institute of Science and Technology, the premier R&D institute in Korea, is inviting applications from postdoctoral candidates in 5 emerging high tech fields: neuroscience, spintronics, dye-sensitized and organic solar cells, human/computer interaction, and chemo informatics.

 

Specific research will be conducted in the following areas:

Neuroscience – neurophysiology, neuroimaging, computational neurobiology and molecular neurobiology

Spintronics – design and fabrication of spin devices involving spin transfer torque technology and spin memory devices

Solar Cells – dye-sensitized solar cells and nano organic/inorganic materials for solar cells

Human/computer interaction – natural interface and augmented reality; cognitive robotics and intelligent software

Chemo informatics – medicinal chemistry, pharmacology

 

Salary and benefits:

- 48 million won (approx. US$50,000) per year

- Basic health insurance and workers’ comp insurance provided free-of-charge

- On-campus housing available to rent for single applicants and on a “space available” basis for married applicants (monthly fee: US$120-450)

- All meals available at on-campus cafeteria, dinner provided free-of-charge

 

Term of employment:

Successful applicants will be awarded a one-year contract, renewable for up to 3 years.

 

Qualifications and selection process:

Applicants must have received doctoral degrees within the last 5 years in related fields. Decisions will be made following a thorough review of application materials and phone or e-mail interviews.
