KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology)
KIST’s word mark brings together the research center’s English name and initials. It is designed to increase recognition of KIST and present an accurate identity both home and abroad. The image ‘I’ resembles both the letter I and number 1, thus highlighting KIST’s pursuit of excellence and its pride of being the best. The layout breaks away from a straight line to express KIST’s respect for the originality of each research area and researcher. It also shows KIST’s role as a comprehensive research center that harmonizes - or converges - researchers to create a new science culture. The main RED COLOR symbolizes KIST’s strong focus on developing future source and convergence technology and embodies KIST’s central role in national S&T development with its dynamic, challenging, progressive, and leadership spirit.
Logotypes are designed in Korean, English, and Chinese characters to present KIST’s identity through its title while maintaining the same design tone as its word mark.
