1. Content & Characteristic
O A final goal of this project is to develop the electrospun ultrafine fibrous nonwoven based novel heat-resistive separator for secondary battery with meduim & large capacity.
- novel heat-resistive separator with high thermal stability of above 200 oC and high power performance was developed using electrospinning of heat-resistive polymer and electrolyte compatible polymer blend solution for application to secondary battery with meduim & large capacity.
- The key technologies were transferred to global company, DuPont, DuPont have a plan for commercial production of new separator since 2013.

2. Scientific Value
O It is scientifically valuable since this is a novel heat-resistive polymer electrolyte membrane (separator) for LIPB with meduim & large capacity and high performance, and this will open new paradigm of separator technology.
3. Economic Effect
O It will open new market of heat resistive separator for LIPB with medium & large capacity and lead to world market.
O This will rapidly replace the conventional separator market of small LIB/LIPB for IT devices.
O DuPont had a plan for construction of commercial plant of new separator in domestic region (2011.5.13, Korea Economics report data), so this technology are expected to greatly contribute to the related domestic industry.
