    in classroom at once
-Utilize the robot's functions such as HRI and various reaction, expression
and movement based on situational cognition
 ○ Developed the Assistant Robot which can autonomously give the English Class
to students including dialogue, practice words & sentences, song & games
    and make them study.
 ○ Completed the verification toward the actual market, supplied and used the
robots-total 4 schools in Changwon City, Korea / total 29 robots to 21
schools in Daegu Metro. City, Korea.

○ Used Robot
   - New ENGKEY(Eng. + Key): Used for the 2nd project in Daegu, total 29 robots
? The Avatar assistant robot which can be
controlled remotely by a native teacher,
based on real-time recognition & copy
  technology human face and action
? Human Tracking & reaction, based on
  recognition technology of vision-human and
object, a sensor of voice and direction
? Head(2DOF), Arm(3DOF), Various emotional
expressional expression on its head Monitor
  and LED
? Steer clear of the obstacles by position-
recognition based on ceiling map and
  the distance through ultrasonic sensors
? Provide immerse Robot education continuously
by 360°free motion and movement with the
  Omni Direction Wheel

Used total 4 robots for the 1st Daegu Project(MERO 2, ENGKEY 1, TELEPRESENCE 1)

2. Scientific Value
  ○ Selected as one of the 50 Best Inventions of 2010 by TIME Magazine US
The English Teaching Robot
Call it the job Terminator. South Korea, which employs some 30,000 foreigners to teach English, has plans for a new addition to its language classrooms;
Experts say the robots could eventually phase out flesh-and-blood foreign English teachers altogether
  ○ Completed an end product which has wide potential for commercialization by
unifying the core intelligent robotic technologies, such as H/W and S/W
system for Vision, Voice, Direction, Location-Recognition, Human-Robot
Interaction(HRI), Safe and Dependable manipulation / navigation, Self-
     Healing and etc.
  ○ Present the Business Model and futuristic trend of Service Robot which can
be used in various industrial field-such as Education, Welfare Biz for the
elderly and the diabled, Guide on public service, etc.
3. Economic Effect
  ○ Solve the difference of benefit on English Education among local regions
through supplying the assistant robots which can replace the native
teachers's classes for Korean English teachers, that can cut the cost on
employment of native English teachers in Korea and additionally enhance
public English education by utilizing the robots to regular classes in
  ○ Expected that Korea will lead the market of service robot industry as the
export of domestic service robots and overseas technological exchange on
core intelligent robotic technologies would be promoted
