1. Content & Characteristic
Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine promises a more permanent treatment option for these conditions than that currently offered through healthy donor organs which are typically in short supply. In this project, we have studied for the regeneration of musculoskeletal tissues. We set our sights on putting the bioorgans to practical use through preclinical and clinical application. We have developed biodegradable biocompatible polymer which have material properties similar to natural cartilage and applied it for cartilage regeneration. Moreover, bioceramic and polymers have been used as matrices for bone tissue engineering, and successful bone regeneration depends on cellular interaction with these matrices. By combining with stem cell technology, we expect successful industrialization to make the field of researches for musculoskeletal tissues contribute to 21century's industrial development.
