KIST Future Foundation Continues to Receive Donation Pledges
The KIST Future Foundation (Chairman: Yong-Jik Kim) announced that a donation pledge ceremony had been held with CuReVerse (CEO: Seong-Jin Cho) at KIST’s main campus in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul on March 21. The ceremony was attended by Seong-Jin Cho, CEO of CuReVerse, Yong-Jik Kim, Chairman of KIST Future Foundation, and Seok-Jin Yoon, President of KIST.
CuReVerse, established in October 2021, is developing innovative drugs for the treatment of intractable brain diseases by focusing on low molecular weight drug candidates. As a research institute company established to commercialize KIST-developed technologies, it is researching brain disease treatments with the full support of the infrastructure and know-how of the KIST Brain Science Institute. CuReVerse is rapidly growing, having attracted KRW 8.1 billion in investments in just one year since its founding.
CuReVerse CEO Seong-Jin Cho explained the background of the donation pledge, saying, "We sympathize with the purpose of KIST Future Foundation, which aims to secure and foster outstanding science and technology talents, and made the decision to pledge a donation. We hope that our donation can be a small help in improving our national science and technology capabilities and contributing to society through science."
KIST Future Foundation Chairman Yong-Jik Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am grateful to CuReVerse, a KIST research institute company, for actively taking part in the spirit of sharing science and technology pursued by the KIST Future Foundation. We will carefully use the donation funds to ensure that they help to advance science and technology."
Established in March 2022, the KIST Future Foundation is the first public interest foundation corporation formed by a government-funded research institute in Korea, and is promoting advanced science and technology talent development, social problem-solving, and social contribution through science sharing projects to strengthen the nation’s science and technology capabilities. Since its establishment, it has received donation pledges of various amounts from KIST’s employees, alumni, and affiliated companies.
